Working with Daily Affirmations
With the aide of the Holy Spirit, choosing between right and wrong becomes easier. One of the best ways to understand God’s perspective of you is through the daily affirmation of reading His word and believing the truths of the Bible. Over time this breaks up wrong thinking and develops right thinking. “I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." Galatians 2:20
The daily affirmations of God’s presence and care is essential to our emotional and spiritual growth. You are part of God’s family! He faithfully watches over us. There are so many things that can help encourage/uplift someone daily, whether it be a daily devotional (there are short ones as well as ones that are a bit deeper) to something simple like a favorite coffee mug with a scripture on it. For example, Lighthouse Christian Products has a mug that says, “You Are Amazing” on it along with “She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.” Proverbs 31: 25. Who doesn’t want to be reminded that they are amazing? A Sticky note posted at work with your favorite verse; a perpetual calendar; or any of the items previously mentioned are all tangible ways to be reminded of God’s goodness and love for us.
God wants you to know His love, encouragement, and guidance is available and promised to all who ask Him for it. “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened." Matthew 7:7-8.
